The mining sector has been in focus for quite a while primarily due to the rise in the prices of many precious metals. One of the companies in the sector that emerged as a notable grainer last week was that of Atacama Resources.

The Atacama Resources International Inc (OTC: ACRL) stock ended the week with a growth of 250% and on Friday alone, it clocked gains of 22% as investors continued to pile on to the stock. Atacama has substantial mining interests in the Kirkland Lake region located in Northern Ontario and last week, it also made a key announcement. Last week, the company announced a slew of new appointments to its board.
